Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen Anime to Premiere in October with New Cast Members

The official website for the Tokyo Revengers anime announced on Sunday that the highly anticipated Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen (Tenjiku Arc) anime is set to premiere in October. The series will be broadcasted on MBS, TV Tokyo, and AT-X. Alongside this exciting news, the website also unveiled the first promotional video for the new season and introduced additional cast members who will join the anime.

Among the newly revealed cast members are Seiichirō Yamashita, who will portray Kakucho, the leader of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku. Kouki Uchiyama will lend his voice to Shion Madarame, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, while Daisuke Namikawa will play the role of Ran Haitani, another member of the group. Hiro Shimono will take on the character of Rindo Haitani, Ran’s younger brother. These new additions to the cast are sure to bring fresh dynamics and excitement to the upcoming season.

Previously announced cast members include Nobunaga Shimazaki as Izana Kurokawa, the leader of the Yokohama-based Tenjiku team, and Tetsu Inada as Kanji Mochizuki, one of the Four Heavenly Kings. Their involvement further enhances the diverse and compelling cast lineup.

Tokyo Revengers manga, created by Ken Wakui, originally debuted in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2017 and concluded on November 16. The manga has gained widespread popularity, prompting the serialization of the Tokyo Revengers Extra spinoff manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, which delves into the origins of the Tokyo Manji Gang.

The English version of the manga is published by Kodansha USA Publishing, and it provides the following synopsis:

The first season of the Tokyo Revengers television anime premiered in April 2021, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired in Japan. The Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown arc, consisting of 13 episodes, aired from January 7. The anime has garnered a dedicated fanbase, and its availability on Disney+ and Hulu has further expanded its reach.

In addition to the anime adaptation, a live-action film based on the manga was released in Japan in July 2021, achieving the position of the top-grossing live-action film in the country that year. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the film. Furthermore, two sequel live-action films, Chi no Halloween -Unmei- (Bloody Halloween -Fate-) and Chi no Halloween -Kessen- (Bloody Halloween -Decisive Battle-), are set to be released on April 21 and June 30, respectively, building even more anticipation for fans of the franchise.
