Jujutsu Kaisen – Movie released with a bang! The positive bang. And so the bang were some Bollywood Movies too that were released along with Jujutsu Kaisen. Which means, Anime – the power of anime was seen by the whole world. As Jujutsu Kaisen Zero was the first movie in Indian Cinemas that even if it was released in Japanese increased the quantity of ticket seats massively and earned so huge that was never expected by Theatre Companies.
Well what is Jujutsu Kaisen? Bro, it is an Anime Series. What is Anime? Bro, Japanese Animation is called Anime. Exaclty, so come on let’s know the story of Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Series. Who made it? How is it so popular today?
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen All the living beings emit some cursed energies. But not 24 hours, only when they feel negative emotions within them. And due to continuous emission of cursed energy some cursies are born who look like dangerous monsters. And their only desire is to harm whole humanity. Now as Demons have Slayers, Titans have Attackers. Similarly Cursed Monsters have Jujutsu Sorcerers.
Jujutsu Sorcerers are the people who can control the flow of cursed energy. Which results in them using this energy as per their choice. Just like a magician. By the way, Sorcerers actualy means magicians. Now whether they are Jujutsu Sorcerers or cursed monsters, both can perform some cursed techniques by using their energy and one of those advanced techniques is – Domain Expansion. It’s the coolest thing in this whole series.
Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen takes you into the world of Dark Fantasy. Yes, the same world that you can see in the latest big hits like Promised Neverland, Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan. And when it comes to darkness and violence the creator of this anime crossed all the limits. How? Man, they published Jujutsu Kaisen manga by the label of Shonen Genre Manga even if the actions in this series are of Seinen Level Manga .
See for yourself, hero of the series has his hands cut and even the actions are beyond this. Brother, One Piece has a reward that Luffy will become the greatest pirate. Naruto has to become the best ninja. Hero, that is Deku Midoriya of My Hero Academia has to become the greatest superhero. But the hero of this series has a reward that if he completes his mission he will be cursed with death.
Like, this is depressing but effective way of giving a new definition of this genre. So let us know about the creator of this masterpiece.
Jujutsu Kaisen – The Back Story
There is this is Iwate Prefecture. Situated in Japan’s Tohoku Region of Honshu Island, a very beautiful place. And in this place, on 26 Feb 1992 was born the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen – Gege Akutami. When he was in 4th grade he developed a huge interest in reading manga. In the 5th grade, his family shifted from Iwate Prefecture to Miyagi Prefecture.
And while studying in the same class Akugami developed the interest of drawing by looking at his friend who used to draw. And bingo, this interest of Manga + Drawings resulted in his passion and profession. Akutami says, most of his works are inspired by Bleach and Hunter X Hunter Manga series, Year 2014, at the age of 22, Gege Akutami worked as an assistant with Yasuhiro Kano, the creator of Kiss Into Death Manga.
See, Comic Books are called Manga in Japa.n And these Manga are mostly published in weekly magazines. Now in Japan, Shueisha, Kodansha and Shogakukan are the three biggest manga publishing companies. And these companies published their own magazines that vary in age and gender.
Like Shueisha published Weekly Shonen Jump for teenagers and Weekly Young Jump for Adults. Similarly Kodansha published Weekly Shonen Magazine and Weekly Young Magazines Shogakukun published Corocoro Comic, Weekly Shonen Sunday, Weekly Young Sunday, etc.
And yup, while working with Yasuhiro Kano as an assistant, Akugami published on 7 May 2014 his first One Shot Manga named Kamishiro Sosa in Shueisha’s Jump Next Magazine.
Here comes a Fun Fact, One Shot mangas are the comics which don’t have a continuation just like a movie, starts and ends at once. And the opposite are the Manga Series the story of which moves in a continuation. Just like a Web Series. Just, the coninuation of Web Series is called an Episode. And in Manga Series, each continuation is called an Issue.
Well, later Gege Akagami published two more one shot mangas In 2015, No. 9 and in 2016, Nikai Bongai Barabarujura… Whatever And after publishing One Shot Mangas, he was satisfied so he thought of publishing Manga Series. And not only he thought, he did it in 2017, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and in 2018, a manga series that got a fame even before it’s completion in the whole world you got it right, it’s off course Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fun Fact – Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School was the prequel of Jujutsu Kaisen Manga. Which means, by getting the characters of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and changing the plot and setting fo the story Gege Akutami created a new manga series which he named Jujutsu Kaisen. And ultimately, this became the sequel manga series of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.
And the Fun Fact is, the name of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School was changed to Jujutsu Kaisen Zero on which in 2022, was made an anime movie. And because the topic of anime is on know this, that after just 2.5 years of the publishing JJK Manga it’s Anime Adaptation was released. And the work of Anime Series was done by Mappa who is tha ‘Papa’ of Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man Anime Series.
Well, in the first series of Jujutsu Kaisen there are 24 episodes. Season 2 was announced on February 2022 that JJK Season 2 is set to premiere on 2023. Legally, you can watch this series on Crunchyroll plus Netflix is streaming this anime from 2021.
Fun Fact – the Most Watched Anime Series on Crunchyroll in 2020 was one and only, Jujutsu Kaisen. But, who is numbee one? The number one Most Watched Anime Series in that year was Black Clover. And this is the remaining list. Year 2021, Twitter posted a list title of which was Top Ten Most Discussed TV Shows Worldwide.
Surprisingly, defeating Squid Game Jujutsu Kaisen too got number 2 position 7th was Tokyo Revengers 10th was Pui Pui Moicar. You see, how 2021 went over by discussing Anime. Well, Gege Akugami himself says that he was a big fan of Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of Hunter X Hunter and he tried to copy his artstyle in his manga series.
In an interview, he also said that he was a big fan of Tite Kubo the author of Bleach he also applied this style in Jujutsu Kaisen Series. Also he was inspired by Naruto and One Punch Man. October 2020, Akugami said that he already planned the main stages and it’s ending. And maybe I will end this series in the next two years. Well, who knows we can just wait, right?
Jujutsu Kaisen in India
In India, we all can enjoy this series in Crunchyroll and Netflix easily. Plus, in 30 June 2022, Jujutsu Kaisen Zero was released in Indian Theatres. Indian Anime fans gave a fantastic response to this movie. So fantastic, that this movie was premiered for a month by PVR. The rest you may have seen in this video’s starting.
And even a blind can see… no how can a blind see This went too far. And even a dumb can tell no not again, how will a dumb tell? So so sorry again And even a lame can see and tell that because of Jujutsu Kaisen Zero PVR released many more Anime Movies for Indian Anime Community. Plus, they will keep releasing more movies like this.
And off course, Indian Anime Community is really growing rapidly. Well, did you notice a mysterious thing here? Gege Akutami’s face looks like a cartoon and his hands look like branches of a tree. But why? Let’s know this.
Gege Akutami – The Mysterious Man
Nobody saw the authors of Demon Slayer and One Punch Man, not even their real names are known. Because the themselves got their names unknown. And you know, most of the artists face these problem.s Now they find being unknown cool or what. We really can’t say anything.
But still one reason can be that Art tends to overshadow it’s creators. Means. an artist wants his art to be known, not artist. Like you know Harry Potter but there are chances that you don’t know about it’s Directors, Producers, or Overall Creators. And it’s creators too want that you know Harry Potter, not them.
And the same case maybe is with Gege Akutami. He wants his art to be known by the whole world not his own name or fame. And that’s why Gege Akutami is the pen name of Jujutsu Kaisen’s author, not his real name. In his Instagram Handle too, he put an image of one eyed cat. And usually he uses this image of one eyed cat everywhere.
Watch this video of January 2021. This here is Gege Akutami, with this cosplay who gave a TV interview after he won an award. It all means Gege Akutami dedicedly wants to be anonymous. And currently we have this poor marsh mallow and this cat.
Fun Fact – this getup is not of any poor marsh mallow but he is a character Mechamaru which is Gege Akutami’s favorite character.
The Learnings from Gege Akutami
From the life of Gege Akutami we can learn that don’t run after name and fame and I remember four lines.
Fame is a Bee,
it has a song
it has a sting,
Ah too, it has a wing.
In the first line, we say fame is a bee. Second line says, due to its song or fame your followers praise you which give you happiness. Third line touches the negative aspects of fame or stings When a bee stings a person, the bee dies. Means, after name and fame person underestimates other people which is wrong. Fourth line, remember bee has wings too which leads to name and fame go forever.
Overall, if you have name and fame how long will people remember you. Maybe 10 years, 100 years or 1000 years not more than this. Edison created a light bulb means till the existence of bulb, name and fame exists. That’s why, focus on creating something not by trying to get name and fame for no reason.
Conclusion
Do something that adds a value to this world and when you focus on work, automatically name will be made. Means, create the bulb, you’ll automatically become Edison.
