Animation Vibes KTB

Bharat Hain Hum: The Goa Chapter” is the latest installment in the acclaimed animated series Krish, Trish & Baltiboy: Bharat Hain Hum, created by Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty of Graphiti Studios. This chapter delves into Goa’s unique and prolonged struggle for liberation from Portuguese rule, which lasted over 450 years—significantly longer than the British colonization of the rest of India.

Rediscovering Goa’s Forgotten Heroes

While India’s mainstream history often emphasizes events like the 1857 revolt and the Quit India Movement, Goa’s resistance movements—such as the Pinto Revolt, Rane Revolts, Satyagraha, Swadeshi, and the Jai Hind Movement—have remained largely underrepresented. This new chapter aims to shed light on these lesser-known yet pivotal events and figures in Goa’s fight for freedom.

A Collaborative Effort

Produced in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Communication under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the series is available in 12 Indian languages and seven international languages, including French, Spanish, and Korean. This multilingual approach ensures that the stories of India’s unsung heroes reach a global audience.

Launch and Reception

The official promo for The Goa Chapter was unveiled by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Goa’s 39th Statehood Day, symbolizing the state’s integration into the Indian Union and honoring its unique history.

Educational Impact

With 52 episodes spanning from the 1500s to 1947, each approximately 11 minutes long, the series serves as an educational tool for younger audiences. It brings to life the tales of unsung heroes like Rani Abbakka, Tilka Manjhi, and Tirot Singh, among others, using engaging animation and storytelling.

By highlighting Goa’s distinct path to liberation, Bharat Hain Hum: The Goa Chapter enriches the narrative of India’s freedom struggle, ensuring that the sacrifices and resilience of Goan freedom fighters are remembered and celebrated.
